Pa'a Li'a

In this description the lash is started with a clove hitch called a "Pa'a Piko" with one end of the cord secured to the wae.  The entire length of the lashing cord is passed over the 'iako and through the puka 'iako.  In this description one side of the lash is completed before starting on the other side.  This process is called "Kaukahi".
